The engaging social drama takes a much-needed look at today’s caste politics in the hinterland of Maharashtra. It poignantly depicts the plight of the dalits in the rural parts of the state.
Vikas, son of a dalit farmer, returns to his village after studying in the city. A staunch follower of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Vikas tries to apply the late leader’s principles when he witnesses the oppressive acts of higher-caste politicians on people of his clan. His own father loses his eyesight when he refuses to sell off his land to one such leader. Matter reaches head when a dalit girl is raped by the Sarpanch of the village. The dalits must now unite and retaliate.
