Chondhi, the small Village located at Tal. Patur Dist. Akola, Maharashtra. The village almost has 90% backward class people, lack of awareness of Education and very critical geographical area. The village where in 2003 there was no proper transportation, 10% of people was having electricity, 80% of people are working on daily wages, which was far away from rapidly developing India.
One of the BAIAE member who born and brought up there came to Japan in the year 2002 and started thinking to Pay Back to the People. With his social thinking immediately started to organize the group meeting in Japan and year 2003 we made capable to adopt Chondhi Guidance Center Project with each and every members support and guidance.
As we thought Education is the mean to deprive poverty and enrich the lives we decided to give the quality education to the student of Chondhi Village by conducting extra classes despite any changes in their regular school timings. By providing them these facilities we brought awareness towards education to the students and parents as well. In the starting we got many difficulties due to communication as the postal service was the only option. Despite of all difficulties we have got huge success in this project.
We have started our journey by appointing talented youth Vitthal Thakare who was working in kirana shop to teach. Later we promoted him to do his B.Ed and currently pursuing a teachers job in Marathwada area. With the same track we promoted two more teachers Vijay Thakare and Vikas Tajne for B.Ed and both of them has got teachers job. At the same time we encourage them to take computer knowledge by joining fundamental computer classes. We also provided computer and printer.
For the students to attend the classes we distributed dress, note books and chocolates regularly. We have conducted monthly tests and given prizes to
In Dec 2004 Bhante Surei Sasai visited chondhi guidance center and gave valuable guidance. His visit encourages us further to garnish the project to the next level. So we plan to set up a model school in that village to give quality education. This goal incomplete due to economic crises, fund raising and environmental situation in Japan. Until year 2012 nearly 1000 students and 8 teachers took benefit. Many students appeared for competitive exams like scholarship, navoday and got success. With this we have aware the village people and students toward education. The students are attending the school regularly and increase passing %. Even the 10th class result was improved. We have just adopted one village if like minded people come together we can adopt many villages and deprive poverty and enrich the peoples life. This is a tiny attempt like a drop in an ocean as Dr. Ambedkar says…If one’s education is detrimental to the welfare of the poor, the educated man is the curse to the society
